Waynesville NC Attorneys - Burton C. Smith P.C. Law Offices

I came to the legal field in a roundabout way after a career in college student development. At my retirement, I was the Director of Admissions at Haywood Community College, having also served as HCC’s Director of Financial Aid. Earlier, I was Director of Financial Aid at Florida Atlantic University and Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Western Carolina University. Upon my retirement, my husband, Burt, asked me to assist with some aspects of the law firm on a part-time basis. That part-time assistance quickly became full-time and now, in addition to acting as the business manager for the office, I am a paralegal working primarily in  estate administration and  litigation matters.

As a people person, I most enjoy my individual contact with clients.

I stay busy with family, friends, walks in the mountains when I can fit them in, and church activities. I am a member of Waynesville First United Methodist Church where I serve on various committees and am a member of a United Methodist Women’s circle.
